Where are all the fine boys in Nigerian media? It’s getting a little too obvious that the Nigerian entertainment industry does not factor in the female gaze. Where are all the men with beautiful faces, hair and teeth? Where are the fantastic dressers and charismatic smooth-talkers? Where are the charming smiles and seductive looks from the male actors and artistes?
We get all these from the women so why does nobody care about what people who are attracted to men see in their media?
When I say we need fine men, I’m not talking about average beauty o. I mean gorgeous men that can compete with Ayra Starr and Tems, with Sharon Ooja and Nancy Isime.
The film industry is trying sha but we’re not anywhere near having a heartthrob, to be very honest. Someone was saying it’s not important for men to be good looking, all they need is money and talent. Well, that’s a lie. Sure, you may succeed without good looks, but do you know how much more successfulleerrrrr you can become when women are obsessed with you? A classic example is K-Pop and K-Drama. Do you think secondary school girls watched Boys Before Flowers that time for the plot? Ogbeni please.
To the casting directors and producers reading this, please we need handsome Nigerian men on our screens. Ejo, I’m on my knees. We have suffered long enough.
